About

My name is Tia Farthing.

I have lived in Hadleigh for around 6 years now, and I have always seen how lovely the community spirit is here.

Since COVID-19 came out as a pandemic I was thinking what I could do to help if this happens in the UK.

Well here we are now. Over 70’s being told to self isolate. People with ongoing medical issues or pregnant to also self isolate.

I instantly thought how would people get their essentials to live? So I came up with the idea to create a Facebook group and for volunteers who are well to help provide a service whereby people who are deemed at risk are able to get these things they need. I have elderly grandparents myself and for them to be in the house with no outside contact would be very difficult. So I wanted to ensure that no one where I live could feel like this. With Mental Health becoming increasing difficult to deal with as a person and for families, I believe this could be more difficult for those people out there who suffer.

Hadleigh has been separated into sections A, B, C, D, E, F & G.

Each section has a lead co Ordinator, with volunteers in each section to help with what is needed.

Ranging from shopping, to prescription pick ups or even a phone call to talk to someone.

We are continuously reviewing situations and have many questions being asked daily.

  • If you feel you can help with any of the above please feel free to get in contact.
  • If you feel you know someone in Hadleigh that you now needs some extra care or attention, again get in touch. The more people we help the better!!
  • If you have an enquiry and would like to be that someone we help, please fill out the form below and we will deal with your enquiry within 24 hours and have you assigned to the co Ordinator in your area.

I would like to thank personally Liz Wilson who helped to sort out sections in Hadleigh and arrange co ordinators. To Mark Brennan who has helped get guidelines and protocols together. To Sean Preston who designed the website.

To the Hadleigh community who have volunteered to help during these difficult times. Without all of you this would not have been possible, and I cannot thank you all enough for helping me to help people in need.

Stay safe everyone ❤
